      Kev.D was born in New Jersey in 1990 and lived there eversince. He always loved music and entertainment at an early age, he played drums in the school band and taught himself how to play the piano. Kev says he still play them and he is pretty good with them to this day. His mom always wanted him to become a pianist or for him to put his talents to use. He grew up listening to all kinds of music Rock, Metal, Classic Rock, Reggae, everythin except country & rap. He didnt listen to rap till he was 14 years old when 50 cents Get Rich Or Die Trying came out. For fun he would joke around and freestyle with his friends going on for 40mins at a time, he did this for years and all his friends always said he was great at freestyling, but at the time Kev was onlydoing it for fun. He left high school in 2006 and went to trade school to become a Pharmceutical Tech and graduated in 08 as a liscened Pharmacy Tech. He worked in medical factory for about a year n a half and then just kind of chilled, he didnt know what he wanted to do. Kev said he was confused so one day him and his friends were just sharing little written raps and freestyle and a buddy of his said "Hey we should record for fun" an he said awesome they then made a youtube page and got a $6 mic from walmart and got a friends laptop.

               Kevin didnt even have a computer at the time he put the song on youtube, which he said it sucked big time, but someone commented and said they liked it With one comment and only about 40 views that one comment set him off. Everything he did after that day, he said he did it to the extreme. "He says if your going to do it do it right"so he never stoped  and his friends did but he didnt. Kevin knew this is what he wanted to do and he said he knew it was time to grind, and he then spent everyday and hour he had learning about music and how to make it. Finally in 2010 Christmas day he got proffesional equipment including a mic and laptop. After geting new equipment he spent every hour learning how to master, edit and eq vocals professionally. 7 months later he started making radio quality music and hooked up with a label out in Kansas City. With his hard work and talent he was made president of the label after one month.The label saw his talent and ambition to make it and got him involve with with a group called oceangang (before Soulja Boy was in it). Kevin was already recording songs with a buddy of his named Colby Jones also known as Yung God, they were doing songs for almost a year at that point and they all loved Lil B and the based community (Based is a lifestyle LilB & the pack made up) so he showed love and rep'd Oceangang while running the label from Kansas.

             The CEO of the label wasnt happy with Kevin repping Oceangang so he decided to resign as president and leave the label. Kevin was being apart of Oceangang and repersenting them. Oceangang was created by his friend Mario Cartier god. His music was getting better and better, the numbers higher and higher. The buzz got himt hooked up with Island Def Jam Records. After signing with Island Def Jam Kevin started selling music digitally around the whole world, as he became a while known name. Kevin music was spreaded all over, itunes, zune, amazon, iheartradio ,napster, emusic...everywhere. Since then everything has fallen in to place, thousands of fans across the world hundreds of thousands of views on youtube. Kevin Donovan made Datpiffs top 8 twice and has over 15,000 + mixtape downloads just on datpiff, he been featured on major music sites also. Major sites such as TheMaskedGorilla.com, Vladtv.com and recently was on MTV.com and Vh1.com. With all his success he has worked with several industry artists, producers, and designers. Kevin been in   magazines, has trended on twitter. Hes already accumulated almost 40,000 twitter followers! and his following is huge .

              Currently he still reps Oceangang but is the CEO & Creator of a group/movement called #YSG: #YoungStonerGang is something he created with his friends years ago but just recently made it into a group/movement, he has have over 30 artists in over 6 different countrys rapping and repping #YSG, in 7 languages. He has producers, managers, gfx designers, videographers, writers, photographers ,video editors and so much more. This summer I'm just working non-stop. I put "I still got shit to drop" the street album on hold to release a new mixtape Im working on (not yet named) but its dropping in July. This summer Im on my producer shit...Everybody who had a name in Chicago thats who I wanna be working with.

2. Where did still got shit to drop come from?

I still got shit to drop came from alotta "fuckery" and people talking. I was one of Chief Keef's first producers and me and him had stop talking due to some b.s. Then he blew up...and young chop was his new producer so the streets was looking like damn what happen to leek..niggas was talking like i fell off...i had'nt put out any music since like November and it was march already...so i hit'em with the i still got shit to drop concept.. "like im not done shittin' on these niggas yet"

3. What is your favorite Chicago underground song right now, not yourself?

My favorite Chicago song is probly one of my owns...lol But im gone say my manz Edai "Instagram Fanatics" and Gucci" both off his forgotten mixtape.

4. Smylez said producers that rap are the total package and are musicans not artist, how do you feel about that statement?

Smylez is right. Like if you can rap,sing,and produce its nothing that can really stop you...your a triple threat. and you gon save alotta money,,cuz u aint gotta buy beats...like if i dont make it rapping, ima def make it producing, I got my eggs in different baskets.


5. By the end of 2012.... Leek-e-Leek will be a name known threw chicago for sure. Hopefully signed publishing deal by then. Im traveling right now...but by then i would been to all the major cities. Im gotta take over.

I got a chance to talk to Munnie over the weekend and right now he is right where he wanna be. With a hot song on the radio and producing for the Chicago movement things are feeling really good for Munnie.

I ask Munnie some question on how he feel about the Chicago music scene and his plans by the end of 2012

1. Hows the spot light? The spotlight is a good feeling, I been grindin for a long time so i honestly feel like this is where i belong

2. Now that you are on top of the chicago rap scene what are some of your goals before the sumnmer over? My main goal is to get my following up, Get the city behind my movement and land a record/production deal

3. Since producing various of tracks and having radio play have anybody reach out to you? is there any body you wanna hear from? A few labels have been in contact with my management but none of the numbers meet my expectation, Im still lackin the street buzz so thats why im working so hard to build that up

4. Who are some artist you work with that you think is going to make a big buzz this year? I think S.Dot is gonna buzz crazy, Prince Eazy, Chris Mill, eMike Notez, Jay Stonez, Kd Youngcocky are some...theres more but thats some off my head

5. Smylez from Band Camp said being a producer who raps is a total musican, do you agree? what are your thoughts on producers who also raps? I agree with Smylez because being a rapper/producer means that u have to master both crafts in order to be good....If you produce and your an artist you'll have more doors open for you. I feel like im a complete musician

Who is Smylez? Smylez is the hottest producer in Chicago right now. Smylez is a producer from the southside of Chicago, he live in the englewood area. Smylez is part of the BandCamp movement. Smylez only 19 started off rapping but his rap career took a turn when Young Chop taught him how to make beats. Young Chop is well known and just sign a deal to Warner Brothers for his production for Chief Keef I Dont Like from Back From The Dead. Smylez is now ready and on his way to greatness.
