Kev.D was born in New Jersey in 1990 and lived there eversince. He always loved music and entertainment at an early age, he played drums in the school
band and taught himself how to play the piano. Kev says he still play them and he is pretty good with them to this day. His mom always wanted him to become a pianist or for him to put his
talents to use. He grew up listening to all kinds of music Rock, Metal, Classic Rock, Reggae, everythin except country & rap. He didnt listen
to rap till he was 14 years old when 50 cents Get Rich Or Die Trying came out. For fun he would joke around and freestyle with his friends going on for 40mins at a time,
he did this for years and all his friends always said he was great at freestyling, but at the time Kev was onlydoing it for fun. He left high school in 2006 and went to trade school to become a Pharmceutical Tech and graduated in 08 as a liscened Pharmacy Tech. He worked in medical factory for about a year n a half and then just kind of chilled, he didnt know what he wanted to do. Kev said he was confused so one day him and his friends were just sharing little written raps and freestyle and a buddy of his said "Hey we should record for fun" an he said awesome they then made a youtube page and got a $6 mic from walmart
and got a friends laptop.
Kevin didnt even have a computer at the time he put the song on youtube, which he said it sucked big time, but someone commented and said they liked it With one comment and only about 40 views that
one comment set him off. Everything he did after that day, he said he did it to the extreme. "He says if your going to do it do it right"so he never stoped and his friends did but he didnt. Kevin knew this is what he wanted to do and he said he knew it was time to grind, and he then spent everyday and hour he had
learning about music and how to make it. Finally in 2010 Christmas day he got proffesional equipment including a mic and laptop. After geting new equipment he spent every hour learning how to master, edit and eq vocals professionally. 7 months later he started making radio quality music and hooked up with a label out in Kansas City. With his hard work and talent he was made president of the label after one month.The label saw his talent and ambition to make it and got him involve with with a group called oceangang (before Soulja Boy was in it). Kevin was already recording songs with a buddy of his named Colby Jones also known as Yung God, they were doing songs for almost a year at that point and they all loved Lil B and the based community
(Based is a lifestyle LilB & the pack made up) so he showed love and rep'd Oceangang while running the label from Kansas.
The CEO of the label wasnt happy with Kevin repping Oceangang
so he decided to resign as president and leave the label. Kevin was being apart of Oceangang and repersenting them. Oceangang was created by his friend Mario Cartier god. His music was getting better and better, the numbers higher and higher. The buzz got himt hooked up with Island Def Jam Records. After signing with Island Def Jam Kevin started selling music digitally around the whole world, as he became a while known name. Kevin music was spreaded all over, itunes, zune, amazon, iheartradio ,napster, emusic...everywhere. Since then everything has fallen in to place, thousands of fans across the world hundreds of
thousands of views on youtube. Kevin Donovan made Datpiffs top 8 twice and has over 15,000 + mixtape downloads just on datpiff, he been featured on major music sites also. Major sites such as TheMaskedGorilla.com, Vladtv.com and recently was on MTV.com and Vh1.com. With all his success he has worked with several industry artists, producers, and designers. Kevin been in magazines, has trended on twitter. Hes already accumulated almost 40,000 twitter followers! and his following is huge .
